There is no limit to the success possible for you beyond the limitatins you mentally impose upon yourself. Similarly, true success for you means whatever it means to you.  The only parameters you need to concern yourself with are the dictates of your own core values.  These are not values you can choose.  These are values you have to align with, to experience authentic fulfillment in life. You need to really know who you are and what you really want to achieve what truly matters most to you.

Spend time every day considering what true success means to you. Allow its meaning to evolve as it will.  From one year to the next, one day to the next, one moment to the next, you may realize that what you want now is different from what you wanted then.

One reason to consider what success means to you is that you bring about what you think about.  Thinking about what you want to achieve contributes to its happening.  

The more you align the power of your attitude, desire, emotion, thought, speech and action with what you want to bring about, the more quickly it occurs.  The more you permit those creative powers to stray and conflict with what you ultimately want to accomplish, the more difficult and slow will be the way there.

Permitting your ideal of success to change permits you to adjust your focus based on new developments in your situation and new lessons learned.

There is a natural order process to the accomplishment of success.  That means, from where you are right now, to where you want to end up, there is a series of steps that you can follow in sequence to arrive there in the shortest possible time, along a path that encounters the least possible resistance.

Just as the seed must first be planted in the soil before the flower can bloom, you need to take one step at a time, in order, for your ideal of success to materialize.

Impatience makes this process harder and longer than it needs to be.  Out of impatience we struggle to achieve a level of progress beyond our current reach, only to exhaust ourselves prematurely and to possibly end up feeling so defeated and discouraged that we give up and wax cynical.

Patience means accepting where you are, trusting however long the process takes, and concerning yourself primarily with advancing through the open door of opportunity that presents itself, however slight the progress that it seems to offer.

Our vanity would have us reject where we are and insist on being at the top right now.  Vanity leads only to humiliation.  Let go of your vanity; regard it as an obstacle to healthy, happy success.

Hard work is essential to achieve important goals, but this must be carefully monitored.  Work only as hard as you need to work to function at your peak level of performance.  Working too hard burns you out, runs you down, dulls your faculties, causing you to accomplish less of real value and at too high a cost.

Reach for the stars.  To find out where you are in the process of achieving your ideal of success, go for the top.  Then, see where you end up. That reveals where you are, and where you are to work from.
